Sachs Recreation Center Re-Opening
The Deerfield Park District is happy to announce that starting Monday, July 6 the Fitness Center in the Sachs Recreation Center (SRC) will re-open per the Phase 4 guidelines of the Restore Illinois Plan. We will be closely adhering to the safety guidelines under this phase per the CDC and IDPH.
Hours of Operation:
To complete frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and surfaces throughout the day and after-hours with EPA registered virus-killing disinfectant, the hours of operation have been expanded to Monday-Friday 6 am – 6 pm and Saturday/Sunday 7 am – 1 pm. We will re-evaluate and make needed changes to this schedule based on use and guest experiences after July.
Facility Access for Fitness Center Use:
Online reservations will begin Wednesday, July 1 and are required for entry into the SRC. Per the guidelines issued for Phase 4, we will be operating the fitness center at 50% of our normal capacity. All SRC memberships will remain suspended at this time. To ensure capacity limits are maintained, 90-minute pre-reserved time block reservations can be made daily online. Deerfield Park District residents may reserve time blocks 5 full days in advance of reserved date and non-residents may reserve time blocks 4 full days in advance of the reserved date. No walk-ins will be allowed.
Special Senior Access – Monday-Friday from 2-3:30p is for seniors (65+) only:
We have set aside this 90-minute specific time slot for seniors and those residents who are more vulnerable to COVID-19. Beginning Wednesday, July 1, reservations can be made online or by contacting the SRC for more information at 847-572-2600.
Fitness Center Reservation Fee:
$6 resident / $7 non-resident
Services and Amenities currently available:
The fitness center will include access to the fitness floor cardio equipment, free weight room, Cybex weight room, functional training area, walking/running track and the gymnasium adjacent to the fitness floor where individual workout pods will be available. Fitness center reservations do not include access to indoor and outdoor group exercise classes being held at the center or access to the swimming pool. Locker rooms will be available for restroom and sink use only. Guests should come to the facility dressed in their workout gear with a towel and water bottle. Hands-free water bottle fillers are available in locker rooms.
Services and Amenities currently not available:
Kids Korner, towel service, lockers, showers, steam rooms, drinking fountains and vending machine.
Safety & Cleaning:
For everyone’s safety, when visiting the SRC each guest will be required to:
· Complete a COVID-19 wellness assessment form before entering the facility.
· Use hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility and re-apply throughout their visit.
· Wear a face-covering everywhere in the facility except when exercising.
· Socially distance from staff and guests to ensure safe spacing.
· Clean each piece of equipment before and after each use with provided cleaning materials.
In between each 90-minute reservation time block, 30-minutes will be spent sanitizing each area of the building with EPA registered virus-killing disinfectant. SRC staff will be monitoring adherence to guidelines and cleaning fitness equipment as well as high touchpoints in the facility throughout the day.
Lap Swimming
Lap swim times at the SRC will expand to 7-days a week beginning July 6. Forty-five-minute time block reservations can be made online. Lap swim reservations are separate from fitness center reservations and cannot overlap. Deerfield Park District residents can make reservations 5 full days in advance of the reserved date. Non-residents can make reservations 4 full days in advance of the reserved date. No walk-ins will be allowed.
Indoor & Outdoor Group Fitness Classes
Group fitness class opportunities will be expanded beginning July 6. Indoor and outdoor fitness classes are available. To view schedule and register for group exercise classes visit us online. Class fees are $6 for residents and $7 for non-residents. Group fitness classes are separate from fitness center reservations and cannot overlap. Deerfield Park District residents can register 5 full days in advance of classes. Non-residents can register 4 full days in advance of classes. Class registration closes 60-minutes prior to each class. No walk-ins will be allowed.
Virtual Zoom Fitness Classes
The virtual Zoom fitness class schedule will expand to (17) weekly classes and will run from July 6-July 31. Those interested in participating in classes must purchase a Zoom Class Pass. Pass fees are $40 for residents and $48 for non-residents. Passes may be purchased by visiting us online.
Gym Reservations
Two SRC gymnasiums are available 7 days a week for reservations beginning July 6. Ninety-minute reservation time blocks will be available for 1-20 participants. One person will make a reservation for a group. Fees are $25 for residents and $35 non-residents. Deerfield Park District residents can make reservations 5 full days in advance of the reserved date. Non-residents can make reservations 4 full days in advance of the reserved date. No walk-ins will be allowed. Reservations can be made online.
Personal Training
Personal Training services will be offered daily for Sachs Recreation Center Members. Hours will be Monday – Friday, 6 am – 6 pm; Saturday – Sunday, 7 am – 1 pm. SRC Personal Trainers will work with current clients to set-up training sessions. New personal training clients must complete a Request for Personal Training Form by contacting Chris Moilanen, Facility Operations Supervisor at chris@sachsreccenter.org. All personal training sessions will be pre-scheduled. No walk-ins will be allowed. All personal training sessions will follow approved IDPH and IL DCEO safety guidance, including social distancing guidelines and equipment sanitation procedures.
Indoor Tennis
Indoor tennis courts will open for reservations (singles play only). Hours will be Monday – Friday, 6 am – 6 pm; Saturday – Sunday, 7 am – 1 pm. Reservations must be made prior to coming to the facility. No walk-in reservations are permitted. All tennis play and programs will follow approved IDPH and IL DCEO safety guidance, including social distancing guidelines and equipment sanitation procedures.
