Deerfield Park District Names Jeff Harvey New Executive Director

Earlier this year, Deerfield Park District Executive Director, Jeff Nehila, announced that he will be retiring, effective June 2, 2023. The Board of Park Commissioners has selected the District’s Director of Finance, Jeff Harvey, to be the next Executive Director of the Deerfield Park District.

Harvey joined the District as the Director of Finance in November 2018. Harvey holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Christian University, a master’s degree in business administration from Loyola University, and practiced public accounting as a certified public accountant with KPMG.

Board of Park Commissioners President, Jan Caron said, “The Board thanks Jeff Nehila for his leadership and wishes him well in his retirement. We are excited to be working with Jeff Harvey in his new role. We are confident the Park District is in good hands.”

Harvey said, “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the organization in a greater capacity and continue advancing its mission, vision and values. I have been fortunate to work with Jeff Nehila for many years and have learned from his experienced leadership. We have a fantastic team, a supportive Board, and a bright future ahead of us. This community means a great deal to me and my family as we have been residents since 2007. My children experienced the Park District at an early age, attending preschool at the Jewett Park Community Center.”

Harvey will start in his new role as Executive Director on May 19.
