Strategic Plan Updates
In September 2017, The Deerfield Park District adopted a 5-year Strategic Plan. The Plan consisted of 6 Core Strategies, 19 goals and 73 objectives. The Plan provided valuable guidance for the District as it created its vision on core strategies such as Organization Excellence, Customer Engagement, Community Engagement, Going Green/Environmental Stewardship, Expand and Enhance Parks and Properties, and Enhance Existing Facilities and Add New Ones. The District completed nearly all of the objectives within the 5-year period and exceeded the majority of the objective outcomes. Some noteworthy accomplishments include earning The State of Illinois Distinguished Accredited Park and Agency Award, multiple state-level partnership awards and being named as a Finalist in the National Recreation and Parks Association Gold Medal Award program. In September of 2022, the District again adopted a 5-year Strategic Plan with 5 Core Strategies, 21 goals and 63 objectives. The Core Strategies include Organizational Excellence, Service and Outreach, Park Enhancements, Facility Enhancements and Environmental Stewardship. The Plan will again provide guidance for the District as it looks to provide optimal services, programs, parks and facilities to the community. Updates will be provided every 6 months beginning in March of 2023.
Thanks to all of our community members who provided feedback through survey and evaluation instruments, focus groups, suggestions to staff and requests for services. That feedback was incorporated into the Strategic Plan. Below the 2017-22 Strategic Plan is a link to the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan.
