Choose your healthy mode of transportation and hike, bike or roll over to Jaycee, Mitchell, Maplewood and Woodland Parks, on Sunday, August 26 from 1:30 – 3:30 pm to try out some fun recreational activities and get your passport stamped at each park you visit. End up at Jewett Park where you’ll enjoy healthy snacks and more activities in the park.
Check out some of the activities that will be going on at each of the 5 parks:
As the heart of Deerfield, Jewett Park is our home base for this event. Come shoot hoops with the Chicago Sky, talk with the Sachs Recreation Center Wellness Team, and sample food from The Safe + Fair Food Company! We will also have fun field games with Camp Director Jessica. Be sure to also visit with the Deerfield Library, My Health Dentistry and Jacqueline G. Rosen Orthodontics.
Pickleball is the name of the game at Mitchell! Be sure to try out one of the fastest growing sports sweeping the North Shore at the tennis courts. Pegasus Football Club will also be on hand for fun soccer games!
Jaycee Park will have a golf demo set up from the Deerfield Golf Course and Learning Center. Be sure to give it a swing!
Out at our Woodland Park, we will have our COHO Swim Club there to talk about swimming, as well as the Lake County Health Department presenting our “Go Deerfield” walking program for the fall!
At Maplewood Park, our focus is fitness! Take on a fitness challenge with our personal trainer Andi and dance in the park with our Zumba instructor Lucy. It will be a fun fitness experience for the whole family!
