Jewett Park Community Center

view of jewett park community centerThe community center houses the administrative offices, registration, the Deerfield Park District Preschool and much of our recreation programming, including art and ceramics classes, cooking, preschool programs, jazz and ballet classes offered by the Deerfield Dance Studio, and some of our adult activities. Many of the rooms at the community center are available for rental. The office will be closed in observance of major holidays.

Deerfield Dance Studio

The Deerfield Park District has its own fine in-house dance program, the Deerfield Dance Studio, run under the direction of professional instructors Amy Rose and Rebekah Fontane. The studio offers a range of ballet for all ages and ability levels. Please call 847-945-0650 for additional information.

Deerfield Park District Preschool

The Deerfield Park District Preschool is located on the upper level of the Jewett Park Community Center. Preschool Director, Lynn Braun leads a dedicated, professional staff in this licensed program for youngsters ages 2-1/2 – 5 years of age in morning and afternoon classes. The program runs from September through May. As of January 17, 2023, registrations are being accepted for the 2023-2024 school year. Children will participate in the creative play, communication, learning and socialization opportunities at the Jewett Park Community Center. A wonderful, experienced and dedicated staff, supplemented by specialists in art and music, enhances the fun learning experience.

Skate Park at Jewett ParkSkate Park

In 2020, the Deerfield Park District rebuilt its poured concrete skateboard and in-line skate facility. The 11,000 square foot facility is located in Jewett Park, near the corner of Deerfield and Waukegan Roads. It is geared to the more experienced skater. Hours at this unsupervised facility are dawn to dusk. There is no charge to use the facility. Helmets are required for all skaters under 16 years of age.

Skatepark HOURS

Private skate board lessons are offered Monday’s and Wednesday’s between 4-7pm and Saturdays between 9am-12pm. Otherwise the skate park is open from 7am until dusk.

The skate park will be closed for Skateboard Camp during the following dates and times:

June 6-10 9am-12pm
July 11-15 9am-12pm
August 1-5 9am-12pm

ELAINE SILBERMAN ART STUDIO

After 28 years of service, the treehouse space has undergone a much-needed facelift to become the Elaine Silberman Art Studio. The amount of natural light makes this a prime location for painting and drawing as well as Ceramics and this updated indoor art studio will house early childhood art and ceramics during the day, youth art and ceramics after school, and adult art and ceramics in the evening. Art parties, ceramic parties, and many youth and adult workshops will make use of the space over the weekends.
