Phase 5 Restore Illinois Update

On June 11, 2021, the State of Illinois will move into Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan. The most significant change in this phase is the lifting of capacity limits for events, programs and venues. As a result, no capacity limits will need to be followed for the majority of park district recreational programs, events, facilities and park usage.

The State of Illinois and the CDC continue to encourage everyone aged 12 years and older to get vaccinated for COVID-19. For businesses and venues where everyone is vaccinated, the state does not require face coverings and social distancing in both indoor and outdoor settings. For indoor settings where everyone is not fully vaccinated, unvaccinated persons should wear a face covering and maintain six feet social distance. At outdoor settings, unvaccinated persons may choose not to wear a face covering when able to maintain a six-foot social distance. All unvaccinated persons should wear face coverings in crowded settings, both indoors and outdoors, especially when youth are present.

We thank everyone for their patience and perseverance as we moved through the many challenges and phases of the COVID-19 pandemic over the last 15 months. Your support and compliance with federal, state, county and local guidelines and your willingness to get vaccinated have all contributed to us finally reaching Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan. Enjoy your summer!
