Skate Park Closure

Due to an increase in local and statewide cases of COVID-19, the Deerfield Park District implemented a mandatory face-covering requirement at the skate park at Jewett Park on July 29, 2020. Since that time, park district staff and the Deerfield Police have worked together to inform park users of the requirement.

Unfortunately, the compliance level is minimal and personal requests from district staff and police have been met with resistance. As a result, as of October 19, 2020, the skate park will be closed until further notice due to local health concerns. This is very unfortunate for the persons who were compliant. Park District staff will work with local officials on a way to reopen the park in a safer manner in the future.
