Stay-At-Home Order Extension

Deerfield Park District COVID-19
Community Update on Park District Operations
April 28, 2020

Due to the Governor’s extension of the Stay at Home Order through the end of May, the majority of park district facilities will remain closed and no programs will be offered until further notice. The current exception to this is the allowance of golf courses statewide to open on May 1 under a strict set of operational guidelines. Please feel free to contact the Deerfield Golf Club at 847-945-8333 for information relating to the course’s operations.

The park district is continually seeking guidance on how we can provide summer programs and services such as opening our 2 community pools, offering summer camps and hosting special events. We still hope to do so. At this time, the staff is developing multiple scenarios for these services. Once we are provided the parameters which permit us to move forward and offer services, we will announce them as soon as we are able.

We know social distancing and other health-related requirements will be with us for some time. This summer will be like no other we have ever experienced. The requirements we will operate under will undoubtedly alter the typical provisions of our programs and facilities. This may include reduced attendance at our facilities and limiting the number of participants in programs and attendance at special events. We will be reaching out to summer camp registrants very soon to help us identify what hopes and expectations you may have for this summer. As the Stay at Home Order is through May and we will require time training our staff and readying our facilities, there is a good chance our summer schedule will be delayed. Rest assured we will do everything we can to shorten this delay and provide safe and rewarding recreational experiences to the community.

We encourage everyone to follow localcountystate and federal websites for updates and information relating to the COVID-19 virus.

We also encourage you to check deerfieldparks.org/news and Deerfield Park District and Sachs Recreation Center Facebook pages for information relating to district facilities and activities. We have been posting numerous links, interactive fitness programming and recreational activities to help you stay busy, healthy and active.
