Deerfield Pool Advisory Committee

The Deerfield Park District seeks individuals to serve on the Pool Advisory Committee for the coming year. This committee consists of Deerfield Park District residents appointed by the Board of Park Commissioners.

Committee members will study all phases of facility operations and will act in an advisory capacity to the Board of Park Commissioners. Areas of study will include such issues as additional means of utilizing the pools, new program ideas that could be beneficial to the overall program, methods of generating alternate sources of revenue, means of maximizing attendance, suggested capital improvements, etc.

Interested residents should contact Rick Julison, Executive Director of Parks and Recreation at the Deerfield Park District, 847-945-0650. Applications for the Pool Advisory Committee are available online or at the Jewett Park Community Center, located at 836 Jewett Park Drive, Deerfield.

The Deerfield Park District was established in 1951 to provide recreation programs and facilities for residents of all ages. The park system operates on revenue received from the district's share of real estate property taxes and user fees. 

The district is governed by an elected board of park commissioners who serve four year terms of office without pay. The board meets the third Thursday of each month at the Jewett Park Community Center. Board members set policy for the district, which is administered by a director of parks and recreation and a staff of recreation professionals. The board receives community input through its citizen advisory committees, composed of appointed community volunteers, and from the general public.

For Fiscal Year 2013 the total budget for Deerfield Park District includes revenues of $14,146,690 and expenses of $13,563,031.  The District has 44 full time employees, plus over 700 part time & seasonal employees.
